Complete Life’s Circle?

The unasked Opening...

Sometimes it just gets very difficult to write, to express oneself as one feels about life, about everything in general. These days don’t bring much hope to the heart, it seems as though the world has become such a harrowed place to live in. Everything seems to be just coming down in everyway possible. Food is so expensive, house rents are enormous and nothing seems to be going in a way that one feels “Yes! This world is good place to be in.”

Sometimes I wonder about the poor people, those who can’t afford huge ransom houses to live in, they can’t afford to buy some good food to eat, what is really happening why have we become so lost in chasing unknown dreams and myths of unreality?

What fears haunt us and prevent us from living a life of simplicity and being in our natural folk hood?

These and many other question seems to the primal cause of a mental struggle these days. The answers too don’t seem very complicated; it’s understandable this world is heading for such a diversified evolution (devolution) that we now have to face the consequences of our own doings. There was a time when all knew without any effort - A sense of simplicity, of purity of the naturalness of ‘being’, and now it seems that we are only occupied with an anti culture of ‘doing’.

We are no more creative, artistic, spontaneous, alive, joy filled, peace loving individuals as we used to be; instead we are destructive, distasteful, planned, mechanical, depressed, bitter and resentful individuals. What happened I believe many will immediately disagree with the above statement, but lets just say 40 years ago I never heard of so many people have so many chronic diseases, Diabetes, Heart problems, Kidney problems, Cancer, Aids etc... This list can go on and on.

So what has all the health problems got to do with one’s creativity? You might ask.
Its simple the influence of our anti culture has made us into what we are today, Technology Dependent Individuals, rather than insight driven individuals.

This surge of Industrialization of Modernism and Techno Developed Societies and Nations have caused progress in a direction which only guarantee a better life style on the face of it but they don’t really provide any light into a better life insight, what one gains from a better life insight is much more than what one gains from a better lifestyle.

After all what will one does with a better lifestyle if there is no insight left in you to live? If one truly does a qualitative or even a quantitative analysis one can clearly see there is no progress to life unless there is an Insight in it.

So we come back to the same place where we started from. The circle has to complete itself. How so? What started feeling so incomplete primarily? That it needed the entire world for itself, in all its glory, in all its potential, in all its forms of Techno Developments, not to mention the Massive Rape of the Earth. What was it? What felt so Insatiated? So dissatisfied with it’s self that even the world was not enough for it? It seems now even the moon and mars will never be enough for it! What is that? Does anyone know? Has anyone ever felt it before? This circle gets completed because it comes back, to that very place where it started from. One’s Self!!!
One’s New-Clear/At-o-meek Self. That New-Clear/At-o-meek which is more powerful than all the Nuclear and Atomic put together even their explosion cannot compare to the implosion that happens inside One’s Self.

What is Inspiration? It is when a thought is alive and which lifts the spirit and reveals what’s beyond that which is already in front of us. Inspiration is not evil, but when inspiration is integrated with a selfish cause - a monetary cause, it is bound to turn ill natured and cause more harm than good. A moment of True Inspiration is what makes the Divine real for us. Just like a moment of indulgence in falsehood corrupts us and corrodes at the very heart of our being turning it into evil.

So we come back to the same question: Is there any hope left in this world? I believe it needs a little rephrasing now: Is there any hope left in us, to still be in such a world?
That is a question that none but you can answer for yourself, or one needs to answer for One’s Self. It is the only way left to find out, if the problem is there in the world or here in us. What we think the world is, is nothing but our own self reflected in it. One doesn’t need much to understand this; one only needs a little openness. That’s all.

Transcend this world... Know Thyself !!!

Perhaps it doesnt really matter as to what happens to this world. I sometimes think about it and it somehow doesnt even cause me to wonder anymore.
Is humanity today reaping the seeds of what it has sowed? Lets just say, even a few decades ago we felt that time before WW1 and WW2 was peaceful, what happened? Did some bug bite the human race?
This planet has already been tormented enough with an unmentionable list of wars, destruction, death and remorse of petty human beings trying to own it or rule it.
Oh God! when will we learn or rather should i ask will we ever learn? Let me not bore you my friends, with the blah di blah di blah...... of this and that and of how things could be and how they are, eventually i come to think of it, doesnt really matter any more.
If we are to die we will die, if the world has to come to an end let it come to an end. What matters most now is - Until that moment has arrived, are we to continue living with our blessed supreme ignorance or we can sincerely find some Light, Inspiration and Truth in our lives. This is the final question which really matters at the end of all our struggle in this advent called Life. The struggle may seem endless without purpose and may continue to be so for quite a while, the moment to decide has arrived already, if we dont offer ourselves to it, the loss is ours.
Destiny beckons us to an unknown call
Life is not seperate from Existence
what we call Life on Earth
is only a fraction of Eternity that mystifies our being
who can dance such a dance?
who can play in such a game?
This game called Life...

The Swine Flu Dilemma

SWINE FLU: HERE IS WHAT WE KNOW AND WHAT WE CAN DO

The Health Awareness Centre was started in 1989 to empower people to be healthy without medicine. We have taken time to formulate a statement as we wanted to not create heat but create light.
In the last month or so the media frenzy and government reports on swine flu has only added to the fear and panic associated with it. If we are to fight this so called pandemic we need to start by understanding what it is.

H1N1: WHAT IT IS AND HOW IT IS HANDLED
We have been told that Swine flu is a virus (H1N1) that is transmitted from pigs to humans causing flu like symptoms. The treatment for swine flu currently is Tamiflu (oseltamivir) or Relenza (Zanamivir). Tamiflu (oseltamivir phosphate) is approved for treatment of uncomplicated influenza A and B in children 1 year of age or older. It is also approved for prevention of influenza in people 13 years or older. It’s part of a group of anti-influenza drugs called neuraminidase inhibitors, which work by blocking a viral enzyme that helps the influenza virus to invade cells in your respiratory tract. According to the Associated Press at least one financial analyst estimates up to $388 million worth of Tamiflu sales in the near future -- and that's without a pandemic outbreak. Tamiflu is loaded with side effects including death and can only reduce symptoms by 36 hours.

THE HISTORY
The first outbreak of swine flu was in 1918 (aftermath of WWI), followed by one in 1976, then in 1988, 1998, 2007 (minor episodes are always happening) and now in 2009. Since the first out break about 90 years ago there hasn’t been a single episode in which this disease was effectively managed by conventional medicine. The current so called pandemic started in Mexico and from there spread to USA and widely beyond North America with confirmed cases in 122 countries by WHO.
WHO has declared that scientific evidence shows that restricting travel will have limited or no benefit in stopping the spread of the virus. WHO has emphasized quick response rather than halting growth and spread of the virus. And instead of a uniform global plan WHO has most countries banking on mass vaccination, with the release of the vaccine expected soon. Manufacturing of the vaccine had started even before the first case of swine flu had been registered with Pharma corporations applying for patent about a year before the first reported case.
In 1918 the death of one soldier triggered the government to order mass vaccination for the whole country of USA. When the vaccine was introduced during the 1976 swine flu epidemic it resulted in 25 deaths. Only one person died of the so called actual disease whereas 25 died of the vaccination and 500-600 were paralyzed (Guillian Barre syndrome) by the vaccine. The manufacturers had to pay $1.3 billion in compensation (do we have those benefits in our country?)

H1N1: THAC’S TAKE ON IT
Every seed requires a soil to germinate. Similarly every virus requires an environment to become active. The swine flu virus is no exception. The virus like all other germs and viruses requires an acidic environment to become active.
We have seen that with every generation humans have become smarter and better. This is evolution. Every other organism too evolves. The new strain of the flu we see every year is only evolved strains of the same virus. And hence though we call them by different names e.g. common flu virus, bird flu virus, swine flu virus, H1N1 they all produce the same set of symptoms. Vaccinating ourselves against a particular strain only seems to increase our immunity against that specific virus while decreasing overall general immunity. Each year time, money and resources are spent to develop a vaccine only to have a new ecologically evolved germ the nest year, unaffected by the previous vaccine.

To maintain health our body needs to perform 3 functions on a daily basis viz. cleaning, maintaining and repairing. To be able to do all 3 effectively our blood needs to be at a pH of 7.325. If we with our lifestyle make our blood acidic then body regains balance by throwing the acid out. Moral of the story is its best to let our body handle its own defenses. Our body has been equipped with the most sensitive and efficient defense system. That is why as soon as our body realizes it is under a viral attack it produces large amounts of mucous to trap the virus at the entry point (respiratory system). It then expels this virus through coughing and sneezing. Fever is a hyperactive state of functioning. The body raises the temperature because at raised temperatures our metabolic activity is faster. High temperatures also curb the activity of the virus as it requires lowered temperatures to breed. We feel more sleepy and weak because our body does not want to waste precious energy in physical activity. The loss of appetite occurs because the body does not want to waste vital energy digesting foods that leave behind a toxic residue.

All symptoms of the body is only to build more health, by cleansing the body thoroughly. At this time it is important that we support the body by making sure our internal environment is not conducive for viral activation i.e. We are alkaline and we boost our immunity to be able to deal with anything that comes our way and we have the energy to do so.
We can do this by

  • Increasing the quantity of fruits, lemon and ginger. (helps in cleaning and giving energy).
  • Reducing our cooked meals to only once or twice a day. (conserves energy).
  • Avoid those that leave behind a toxic, acidic residue viz. grains, milk and milk products, sugar, fried foods and meat. (to maintain alkalinity).
  • Use more herbs and spices. (to boost our immunity)

If we have already started showing symptoms of the flu rest physically and digestively, through the above ways.

*Pandemic: Epidemic over a wide geographic area and affecting a large proportion of the population. There is no correlation with no of deaths
*World Health Organization: An agency of the United Nations established in 1948 to further international cooperation in improving health conditions.

The Ticking Clock of Final Doom

This is not a new surprise as we all are awaiting our moments of Disaster. Its only a matter of time before we are rolled up back into the Stone Age. I sometimes wonder if we might survive ourselves. Its a ridiculous joke, mans worst enemy is his own incompatible nature of unquenchable desires, it seems a more and more become millionaires; the world becomes poorer and poorer in its natural stance. Humans have not only proved themselves to be the most selfish species on this planet but they have managed to single handedly be responsible for their own extinction over a period of some more time.
Transformation Era - Sometimes i wonder what made me choose such a name for this blog. All one hears in the news is amazing kinds of disasters happening everywhere, well its a welcome news for those who seek to make more money and a depressing news for some who look for some hope in this world. Economy is at is worst best and man still struggles to achieve his ultimate dream of becoming Immortal through the latest Nano Technology.
"Hey what about the mortal ones? Want to give them a chance to live?" , I doubt if its going to be so easy in their perfect future lets say 'Hu-Nanos' - The species that follows Humans after the Humans created it.!!!
So as we are nearing our evident end, i believe its no harm to just learn a few lesson that might at least keep us in jovial spirit until our basic nature of mortality comes to pass. We have to keep some humour alive, or life gets to be a bit of a drag.
Quoting an old friend of mine as the old Chinese curse mentions "May we all live in Interesting Times".
......Wondering to what extent its going to get Interesting?

Satyamev Jayate - India's Pride?

In a country where over 77 per cent of the populace, or an estimated 836 million people, earn an income of Rs 20 per day and over 300 million are living below the poverty line, nearly half the Rajya Sabha members and nearly a third of those from the Lok Sabha are worth a crore and more.
Just the top ten Rajya Sabha members and the top ten Lok Sabha members have reported a cumulative net asset worth Rs 1,500 crore. The 10 top losers in the last Lok Sabha polls including Nyimthungo of Nagaland who reported total assets of Rs 9,005 crore is Rs 9,329 crore. Members of legislative assemblies seem wealthier than many MPs.
The top five MLAs across the 30 states are worth Rs 2,042 crore. Of these 150 crorepati MLAs, 59 don't even have a PAN card.
  1. T. Subbarami ReddyIndian National CongressRajya Sabha, Andhra PradeshTotal Assets: Rs 239.6 cr
  2. Jaya BachchanSamajwadi PartyRajya Sabha, Uttar PradeshTotal Assets: Rs 214.3 cr
  3. Rahul BajajIndependentRajya Sabha, MaharashtraTotal Assets: Rs 190. 6 cr
  4. Anil H. LadIndian National CongressRajya Sabha, KarnatakaTotal Assets: Rs 175 cr
  5. M. KrishnappaIndian National CongressMLA, Vijay Nagar, KarnatakaTotal Assets: Rs 136 cr
  6. MAM RamaswamyJanata Dal (Secular)Rajya Sabha, KarnatakaTotal Assets Rs 107.7 cr
  7. Anand SinghBJPMLA, Vijayanagara, KarnatakaTotal Assets: Rs 239 cr
  8. Anil V. SalgaocarIndependentMLA, Sanvordem, GoaTotal Assets: Rs 91.4 cr
  9. N.A. HarisIndian National CongressMLA, Shanti Nagar, KarnatakaTotal Assets: Rs 85.3 cr
  10. Mahendra MohanSamajwadi PartyRajya Sabha, Uttar PradeshTotal Assets: Rs 85 cr

And don't look for a correlation between the state of the state and the wealth of the legislators. Uttar Pradesh boasts of the largest number of people 59 million or over a third of its population living below the poverty line. Not only is Mayawati the richest chief minister in 30 states, the state also boasts of 113 crorepati MLAs.

Similarly, Madhya Pradesh which has over 25 million of the 60 million people living below the poverty line boasts of 80 crorepati MLAs. The Marxists are the stark exception in this study too. The CPI(M) has 301 MLAs across 10 states but has only two MLAs with declared assets of over Rs 1 crore. Of the 537 candidates who contested on a CPI(M) ticket, only seven had assets of over Rs 1 crore, of which five lost in the elections. As the old maxim goes, power begets power and money attracts riches.

Clearly, it pays to be in power. Take the last round of Assembly elections which afforded the study an opportunity to compare the increase in wealth. In Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh where the BJP was in power, the average assets of candidates increased by five times. In Karnataka too where the Congress ruled in rotation with Deve Gowda's JD(S), Congress candidates reported a fivefold rise in their assets. Mercifully, wealth doesn't always ensure success.

In all, 365 crorepatis contested the Lok Sabha elections in 2004; 88 lost their deposits, and 114 came second.Last December in Delhi the Congress learnt this important lesson again when they found that Congress candidates who lost in Delhi were on an average richer than those who won. But wealth clearly does matter, all other things being constant. The caveat emptor here, as with all matters concerning transparency in public life, is that we are going by what the political class has chosen to declare.

After all, the statement of assets filed by candidates is at best a confession of sorts mandated by two Supreme Court judgements of May 2002 and March 2003.There are several gaps in the information available. Of the 542 Lok Sabha members, details of assets are available for only 522. Similarly in the Rajya Sabha, only 215 members have filed details of assets.

There is no institutional mechanism to cross-check facts, nor is there a requirement for candidates to declare the source of wealth, or the increase in wealth of candidates in subsequent declarations. In Mizoram for instance, none of the 10 top candidates have reported possessing a PAN card even though their wealth is in excess of Rs 1 crore.

What is worse is that although MPs who are ministers file annual statements of their assets, the information is not available to the public. This virtually negates the concept of scrutiny that would prevent misuse of position of power and enrichment. Indeed, what should be openly available is denied even under the Right to Information Act.

It is tragic that the Office of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who has been described as integrity personified has been made party to this decision to deny the information. Again, while Central ministers are required to file a statement of assets, there is no such requirement for ministers in states.

The adulterous cohabitation of power and pelf is conspicuous across the political spectrum. The chasm between the declared and perceived reality is all too obvious to be missed. Contrast the wealth reported and wealthy lifestyles of those elected to high office.Clearly the tip of the benami iceberg has not even been touched.

In a country with a stark asymmetry in opportunities and ability, political power enables bending and twisting of policy, converting politics into the elevator politicians ride to reach the pot of gold. Living room conversations in middle and upper middle class homes are dotted with whose son, daughter or son-in-law is raking it in using the benami route to accumulate property and assets.

Television footage of currency notes being waved in Parliament during the last trust vote, the airborne campaigns witnessed during the polls in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, money spent in fielding dummy candidates, funding of party offices, travel in Toyota SUVs costing over Rs 75 lakh each and private charters that politicians avail of to fly within the country are all pointers that are hard to ignore.

Bankers and brokers talk in not so hushed tones about the role of politicians in corporate scams. There is also speculation about the real beneficiary and benami ownership of at least two airlines, several real estate ventures, pharmaceutical units and infrastructure companies. The corporate concept of 'sleeping partner' has a whole new connotation in the political world. As long as the real incomes, wealth and funding of politicians remain opaque, governance will continue to suffer and democracy will be rendered more often on the liability side in the balance sheet of development.

Is mental Illiness Genetic?

But isn't "mental illness" genetic?
Don't we know from the genetic studies that "schizophrenia" is heritable?
Doesn't that mean it has to be a "biological" brain disease?
Amazingly, the answer again is no.
Yes, there is some heritability of schizophrenic symptoms. Identical twins whose twin exhibits schizophrenic symptoms are more likely to exhibit such symptoms themselves.
But the heritability of 50% that they routinely teach in Abnormal Psychology classes turns out to be as mythological as the chemical imbalances.
Virtually all human traits—e.g., neatness, shyness, criminal activity, conservative vs liberal values, overeating, athleticism, talkativeness, extroversion, religiosity, etc., etc.—show more similarity in pairs of identical twins, even if they are not raised together. The truth is that when the empirical data is examined, there is no evidence that schizophrenic symptom patterns are any more heritable than any other measurable human trait!
Indeed, the fact is that the low concordance rates actually found suggest the opposite: Since identical twins share the same genetic biology and since most identical twin pairs with one "schizophrenic" twin are not concordant for schizophrenia, it appears that biology cannot be more than just one piece of the story.
And this piece obviously cannot be the explanation: Again, most twins who have a schizophrenic identical twin are not concordant for schizophrenia. This lack of any indication that genetic, inborn biology accounts for the appearance of schizophrenic symptoms more than it accounts for any other human trait means that biology has to be a relatively minor part of the story, i.e., genetic biology explains no more about "schizophrenia" than it explains all other human behavior.

Schoolchildren Are Increasingly Dosed With Both Ritalin and Anti-Psychotic Drugs, Says New Research

Friday, August 06, 2004 by: Mike Adams, NaturalNews EditorKey concepts: Anti-psychotic drugs, Ritalin and Adhd

Researchers from the Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt have found that anti-psychotic medications are being prescribed at an alarming rate for Tennessee children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD. The use of anti-psychotic drugs has more than doubled since 1996, and today children are not only being dosed with Ritalin -- a powerful narcotic drug -- but now anti-psychotic drugs to mask other symptoms related to behavioral disorders.
Every time I write about this subject, I can't help but be outraged at the fact that we are a nation dosing our children with powerful narcotics in order to alter their brain chemistry rather than teaching them how to avoid the foods that cause these behavioral disorders in the first place. We don't teach our children how to eat right, nor do we teach our parents how to teach good dietary habits to their own children. Instead, we turn our children into literal druggies by forcing them onto extremely dangerous narcotic and anti-psychotic drugs.
In this nation, there appears to be a drug for every problem out there, including undesirable behavior on the part of children. In reality, ADHD is not a behavioral disorder, nor is it some sort of mysterious chemical imbalance in the brain. It is simply the natural effect of pursuing a diet that is very high in refined carbohydrates and very low in optimum nutrition.
This dietary pattern almost perfectly describes the pattern pursued by virtually all children in the United States. They load up on high-sugar breakfast cereals, soft drinks, candy bars, sweets, cookies, and desserts, and then, just in case they don't have enough sugar in their system already, when they go to school they get rewarded with more candy and desserts, and they even have the opportunity to purchase soft drinks and candy bars from vending machines that are actually supported and promoted by the school bureaucrats.
So on one hand, we have public schools deriving funding from the sale of soft drinks and candy that promote ADHD in children, and then on the other hand, instead of addressing this problem at its source, we have a fast-expanding collection of mental health professionals who are increasingly putting children on powerful narcotic drugs in order to mask the symptoms caused by the widespread consumption of sugars and processed foods.
The victims in all of this are, of course, the children themselves, who end up being unable to learn as well as they normally could, since their brains have been dulled by multiple prescription drugs -- and who end up going through the public school system with increased risk for obesity, diabetes and other diseases promoted by the consumption of food ingredients like white flour or refined white sugar.
And people wonder why we have such high rates of obesity, diabetes, and drug dependency in our adult population. It's not mystery -- just look at the children we're raising in this country. We're raising yet another generation of drug-addicted, chronically diseased, overweight, brain-numbed zombies -- and proudly declaring it "public education."

The Sickness of Information Mania

Explosive information is scattered all around in space everywhere, affecting our minds and bodies we are caught unaware of the damage it leaves behind sometimes. Our consciousness is affected more by the information that is floating around in space rather than the purity of Nature, this in itself is a highly toxic influence upon our system. The damage is not just mental, physical, psychological and even neurological, this age has affected us beyond that too, it has started a genetic mutation of the entire human species. The post modern world has left its impact upon us and is yet to create the a deeper impact within the nucleus of our consciousness. The trends that have formed the rhythm of life currently have left us far beyond recognizing our true potential. In our pursuit of perfection within this world we have arrived at a place where we are percieving ourselves as aliens first and humans next, this kind of approach is only going to cause isolation to such an extent which we can't imagine and this sense of isolation is only going to leave us more alienated with ourselves. Information mania is another kind of sickness which the current world has seem to have caught on very rapidly. Its time to atleast acknowledge the sickness before we begin to seek a treatement for it.
